University of Wisconsin Crew Christening New Shell
Wisconsin's new racing shell, the Mendota, receives the champagne bottle from sponsor Mrs. Harry (Mary) Stuhldreher in the christening ceremony on the University of Wisconsin armory pier. The boat, made of pressed plywood, is believed to be the first shell constructed in the middle-west. Coxswain Carlyle Fay is grasping the prow of the Mendota. |
