Wisconsin Varsity Crew on Lake Mendota
The University of Wisconsin varsity crew on Lake Mendota in its new pressed plywood racing shell, the Mendota, which was christened just before this photograph was taken. The Mendota is believed to be the first shell constructed in the middle-west. The varsity boat crew, left to right, is: Frank Harris, bow; Ralph Falconer, 2; Donald Peterson, 3; Gordon Grimstad, 4; Leroy Jensen, 5; willaim Sachse, 6; Richard Tipple, 7; Floyd Nixon, stroke; and Carlyle Fay, Coxswain. |
