Joe Investigates Communism

As chairman of the Senate Investigating Committee Senator Joseph R. McCarthy traveled to New York City to hold closed hearings on alleged Communist espionage within the Army Signal Corp Laboratory located at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. With him as he is about to take off from the Washington airport is Secretary of the Army Robert Stevens. Stevens attended the closed hearing as McCarthy's guest. The open hearings in Washington began on November 24, 1953. |
