Carter, a negro farmer near Butler Springs, Ala., has caught the idea of raising a garden and enough feed for his stock and by so doing is enabled to hold his nine (9) bales of cotton till he can get a fair price for it; otherwise he would have to sacrifice it in order to get enough money to buy groceries to live on."
