The Sage House is located on the 600 block of State Street, north. Sage (1781-1840), one of Racine's earliest settlers, built this residence in about 1835-1836. It was located on his 107 acre claim called "Sage Town" near the mouth of the Root River which was to become the heart of the city's manufacturing district. |
