The caption above the painting reads: "This was the first frame building built in Two Rivers and, according to local legend as recorded in "Side Roads" by Fred L. Holmes, where the first ice cream sundae was created. The structure is now a rooming house. Mrs. Erna Mueller, who made this watercolor sketch, recalled eating ice cream sundaes there as far back as sixty years ago." |
