The Waelderhaus a memorial planned for John Michael Kohler the founder of the Kohler Company, by his daughter, Marie Christine Kohler. Waelderhaus is a replica of his family's home in Schoppernau, Bregenzwewald, Austria. An Austrian architect, Kasper Albrecht, was brought over to this country in 1929 to design and supervise its construction and furnishing. In 1931 it was officially dedicated as a club house for the Girl Scouts, an active interest of Miss Kohler. |
