Edgewood High School Doorway
Image
Inscription in relief above the arched doorway that is the main entrance to Edgewood High School. The inscription reads "Laudare, Benedicere, Praedicare," which means "to preach, to bless, to pray" and is the motto of the order of St. Dominic. Architect Albert Kelsey, grandson of Governor Cadwallader C. Washburn, designed the building which is a cream color with black and white trim to represent he habit of the Dominican nun.
