West Doty Street
West Doty Street, from Monona Avenue looking toward South Carroll Street, showing the back side of Madison Newspapers, Inc. The building was added on to in 1949 when The Capital Times and Wisconsin State Journal merged. The new addition housed the press room with the mail room on the second floor. The spiral chute is where the newspaper bundles were sent from the mailing room to the loading dock. The building further down the street is probably the Baskerville Apartments, 121-29 South Hamilton Street. |
