Ernest F. Burmeister, former Dane Co. Sheriff

Ernest F. Burmeister, Dane County's "boy" sheriff from 1901-1903 and deputy and turnkey in 1891, is shown holding the keys to the old Dane County jail and the handcuffs he used on unruly prisoners.
