From 1856 to 1867 Carr was professor of chemistry and natural history. In this capacity he was an influential force in the education of University student John Muir. Carr joined the faculty of the University of California in 1867. Although unidentified, this salted paper print is probably the pre-1860 work of John S. Fuller. |
