Senator Robert M. La Follette, Sr., at Maple Bluff Farm in 1909. Seated with him on the bench is Madison physician, Dr. Philip Fox, a close family friend, the La Follette family physician, and the man after whom Philip Fox La Follette was named. Dr. Fox was a surgeon with the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War, and he began his Madison practice in 1865. |
