Theta Chi fraternity members standing on the pier in front of the Lake Mendota Boathouse located at the foot of North Carroll Street. The boathouse was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The fraternity members are, left to right: Ronald Mattox (class of 1922); Willard Valentine "Shorty" Erdman (class of 1921); unidentified fraternity member; and Merwin Hayden Howes, Jr. (class of 1923). Mattox kept a canoe in this boathouse for several years. |
