Erik Larson
A seated, waist-up studio portrait of Erick Larson, a corporal in Company B, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform holding a musket across his chest. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided Deerfield, Wisconsin. On October 22, 1861, he enlisted in Madison, Wisconsin and on November 16, 1861, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 24. On enlistment he held the rank of corporal. He was wounded in the head and shoulders on May 27, 1864, during the fighting on Altoona Hills near New Hope Church, Georgia. He was moved to a general hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he died from his wounds on June 22, 1864. He is buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery: Section E, Site, 11445, Grave 248. |
