Chippewa (Ojibwa) medicine man John King, with his wife, grandchild, and family standing near a birch wigwam on the Lake Court Oreilles reservation. John King resided in a nearby log cabin and the traditional dwellings were used for traditional ceremonial gatherings. This image is part of an exhibit about Native Americans prepared by Paul Vanderbilt, the first curator of photography at the Wisconsin Historical Society. |
