Third Wisconsin State Capitol
View from street through gates towards the Third Wisconsin State Capitol, the second in Madison, as seen from East Washington Avenue. The iron fence and stone gateways around the perimeter of the Capitol Park were designed by Stephen V. Shipman, who had also designed the dome, completed in 1873. There are iron sculptures on top of the columns. |
