Train on Railroad Bridge

Wisconsin Central Railroad train on White River Bridge, with crew posing on top of cars. The bridge was 1600 feet long and 110 feet above the water. In 1877 excursions were run from the South so the sight-seers might view its "marvel of engineering." Bridge was dismantled and sold for junk in 1909. |
