Ill in Palmer
A boy is sitting on the ground outdoors, holding a toy car in his lap. Original caption reads: "Complaints that one doctor is not enough to care for the medical needs of the colonists at Palmer, Alaska, are being made of Martin Soyk, formerly of Minocqua, Wis., whose son Jimmy (above) is suffering from two diseases, chicken-pox and scarlet fever. Jimmy just recovered from a case of measles." Handwritten on back of print: "It's fun to be a kid. 'Wow, my own car!" |
