I.P. Rumsey, Lucy Holt's father, was a colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War. See similar: Image ID: 142508. The words "A Shooting Lesson" are written on the photo in ink on lower left. This photo also appears in the Lucy Rumsey Holt Album dated 1902 - 1909, but with a different caption: "Lesson in Shooting. Grandfather Instructor. Lakewood. August 1905."
