Brumder Summer Home
A view of the two and one-half story wood frame house built by George Brumder in 1893 on Pine Lake. There are two chimneys, and decorative ironwork on the roof ridges. The two gables have decorative trim and spires. There is an expansive two level porch wrapping the two visible sides of the house. A corner of a third porch is visible on the left. There are awnings over the windows and a hammock is hanging on the porch. Partially obscured by the railing, sitting on the porch are, from left: Ida Brumder Merker holding her son Alfred; Amalie Brumder, Ida's sister, holding Gertrude Merker; and Ida's husband, Hugo D. Maercker, who retained the German spelling of his last name. |
