Third Annual Country Art Fair
A woman in the foreground is holding a bell, while two other women in the background are smiling at her. The woman on the right is standing and holding a framed work of art. Caption reads: "The ringing of a bell will mean not that dinner is served but that another picture has been sold at the third annual country art fair. The outdoor sale is sponsored by the Friends of Art of the Milwaukee Art Center. Mrs. James Grootemaat, 5168 N. Kent Av., Whitefish Bay, held a serigraph by a Milwaukee artist, Schomer Lichtner. The bell ringer was Mrs. Ernest J. Philipp, Jr., 3934 N. Stowell Av., Shorewood, co-chairman of the fair. Both wore the sturdy little aprons in which the Friends of Art will store money and tickets." |
