South 10th & Washington Street, Looking East
View of Washington Street from the intersection of South 10th Street looking east towards Lake Michigan. Streetcar tracks are running down the center of the unpaved street, towards the lake. On the right, women in dark clothing are gathered in front of Dr. J.E. Barnstein & Son's office and pharmacy at 925 Washington Street. Still under construction, the courthouse dome towers over the buildings. In the distance is the William Rahr Sons' large barley elevator. On the left, a group of boys are standing in front of Fred W. Meyer's hardware, tinware and paint store at 922-924 Washington Street. A lone electric street light is suspended over the intersection. |
