Holy Family Hospital, Private Room II
View of a large, private hospital room with a linen covered cast-iron and brass bed. Two windows with lace tier curtains allow light to enter the room, and a picture of the Sacred Heart of Mary is hanging on the wall between them. A daybed, steam heat radiator and bedside table holding a clock and framed picture are on the left. To the right is a three paneled folding privacy screen with a depiction of a nature scene. Along the wall is a washstand with covered pitcher and basin. A large patterned floor rug and double-shaded hanging light fixture complete the view. Private rooms ranged from $10 to $20 per week, depending on the location and character of the room. |
