Map of the United States and one of the first to show the new boundaries created by the Preliminary Treaty signed on January 20, 1783. The former colonies are labeled: "Rebel Colonies Now the United States of America." Cities, forts, Native American land, mountains, lakes, and rivers are all labeled, as are older boundaries with short notes indicating the date and treaty that established them. The map is accompanied by pages from the <i>Political Magazine</i> that describe the map, treaty, and the parliamentary debate surrounding the treaty.
DESCRIPTION
Map of the United States and one of the first to show the new boundaries created by the Preliminary Treaty signed on January 20, 1783.
