Vilas Mansion Demolished for Construction of National Guardian Life Insurance Co. Building
The 104-year old Vilas Mansion at 12 Gilman Street is demolished to make way for the new National Guardian Life Insurance Co. building. The house was built in 1859 by English lawyer Julius Clark and later purchased by U.S. Senator William Freeman Vilas in 1877. |
