Launch owners and members of Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association wanted a way to travel between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, so the Yahara River Improvement Association dredged the Yahara River between Monona and Mud Lake and the Railroad Commison raised the railroad track into Lake Waubesa to open the four lakes. |
