"There are 26 of these new kind of birds in the air. They make a terrific whirring in the air, worse than the speeders on Lake Mendota. They all have their mufflers off. One is up about 5000 ft now. The others are trying for speed. The monoplanes are the prettiest, though one of the Curtiss biplanes seems to be the speediest." |
