Camp at El Kantara

The camp at El Kantara, Algeria. In the foreground, members of the expedition are sleeping on pallets, under blankets. Just beyond the sleepers are two trucks and two men with camping equipment, pails and tubs. Between the trucks two cots also appear to have sleepers in them. In the middle ground are stone walls and structures. The gorge seen in the background has been described by locals as "Mouth of the Desert." Mountains are in the far distance. |
