Portrait of Clemens Rath, head of Rath Church Decorating Service, 3331 University Avenue, standing beside a glass mosaic window made by the firm for St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. Rath stated that "this is the first use of glass mosaics in this country, although the art is centuries old in Europe." Rath lived in Madison 1949-1960, then moved back to Germany. Business sold to Ludwig Neuhaus. |
