Enjoy a true slice of Americana as you celebrate Independence Day on Madeline Island. Gather on the Museum Green and take part in the day’s festivities including a parade, speeches, music, and more.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. and includes beautifully designed floats, pick-up marching bands, and creatively costumed community groups. Entertainment is available throughout the day, including dramatic readings, music, parade awards, and speeches by local dignitaries. Come raise the flag to the "Star-Spangled Banner" and finish with a rousing rendition of "Over to Old La Pointe!"

About the Location

The museum, composed of four historic island structures and the modern Capser Center, contains exhibits detailing Wisconsin history from 17th-century exploration and the era of the fur trade to the arrival of summer islanders, in the early 20th century.
