About the Event

Pendarvis and the city of Mineral Point have a long history of preserving historic buildings. Celebrate this spirit, and explore some of the city's most historic structures on May 6-7, during the city's Historic Preservation Weekend. Learn about information gathered during Pendarvis' recent Historic Structures Report, its application to expand its scope on the National Registry of Historic Places, as well as major renovations coming to the site.
Several Tours will be available both days. Take a special Pendarvis Historic Preservation Tour that examines who built these homes in the 1840s and how did they appeared at the time compared to what you see today. Hear about some surprising things we found over the last year as we prepare for a multi-year site-wide restoration of the historic structures at Pendarvis. An open house at Ingram House will share how this building relates to Pendarvis and discusses potential rental opportunities.
On Friday, Kiddlywink Pub will host a special happy hour featuring wine, beer, and snacks for purchase. Relax with friends, play games, and enjoy the cozy fire.
On Sunday, tour guides will provide a special tour of Pendarvis exploring where different scenes took place in author Kathleen Ernst's book, "Mining For Justice." After the tour, Ernst will take part in a Q&A session including light refreshments.
