Hesseltine Award

Did you know? Each year readers pick the Hesseltine Award winner by voting for their favorite original article from the recent volume of the Wisconsin Magazine of History. The William Best Hesseltine Award was established in 1965 in memory of historian and Wisconsin Historical Society past president William B. Hesseltine.

Award of Merit Winner

The Wisconsin Magazine of History is the recipient of an Award of Merit from the American Association of State and Local History Leadership in History Awards. This national awards program, now in its 65th year, grants the most prestigious recognition for achievement in the preservation and interpretation of state and local history.
