Hard-Time Party
Pupils of the Northey School, District No. 7, pose with their parents at a Halloween "Hard-time" party at the school. Many in the group wear ragged or outdated clothes and mismatched stockings. A paper Japanese lantern with a witch design hangs from a light fixture. On the reverse of the photograph is written, "Pupils entertained their parents at a Hard-time party on Hallowe'en. Prizes were given for the best, or rather worst, costumes. An old fashioned spell down was held." |
