The end of war marked by a parade in Sturgeon Bay, 1918
Proclamation! To the Citizens of Sturgeon Bay
The signing of the armistice in November of 1918 signaled the end of World War I. Although the United States had fought only from 1917 to 1918, a year was more than enough time to claim too many young lives. The coming of peace provoked widespread celebration across the country, as evidenced here this announcement for a big parade in Sturgeon Bay.
